Are you looking for an air purifier to use in your baby’s room, but not sure which one to get?

If so, this video is for you.

We’ll show you what the top features are to look for in an air purifier as well as the top products you can buy today.

So, keep watching.

Having a baby is an exciting time in your life, and fortunately, an air purifier can help give you the peace of mind you need to enjoy this new chapter.

Since babies are born with immature immune systems and have underdeveloped organs, they can be very susceptible to air pollution. That’s why it’s so important to keep the air around your little one clean.

However, not all air purifiers a built with small children or infants in mind. And if you get the wrong one, it may not work, or worse, it could do more harm than good.

So, to keep your child safe, here are some key things to look out for.

When you’re shopping for an air purifier, you want a device that uses a True HEPA filter. This filter is the only type that’s certified to remove 99.97% of contaminants as small as 0.3 microns. This includes a majority of harmful particles, except for airborne viruses.

To ward off pathogens, you’ll want an air purifier that includes an ultraviolet light. What this technology does is destroys microorganisms at their core by disrupting their DNA structure. This keeps germs out of the air, so it’s sterile and clean.

If you want to keep your nursery smelling fresh, and less like diapers, you’ll want an air purifier that also uses an Activated Carbon filter. This filter is specially designed to trap odors and other chemical vapors that are present in the air.

Now that you know what features to look for, here are some things you want to avoid.

  • Never get an ozone generator. It emits toxic particles that can damage your child’s eyes, skin, and lungs.
  • Never get an air ionizer. While it’s safe for most adults, it does emit charged ions into the air that could hurt your child’s developing respiratory system.

Now, with all of that in mind, here are the three best air purifiers you can buy to use in a baby’s room.

Number one is this Pure Enrichment PureZone air purifier. It uses a True HEPA Filter, Activated Carbon Filter and Ultraviolet light to eliminate all types of airborne toxins. It’s also whisper quiet and the top LED lights can simulate a nightlight. Finally, it handles rooms up to 200 square feet.

Next is the GermGuardian AC5000. It includes all of the same features as the PureZone air purifier but comes in a different design and color. Honestly, you can’t go wrong with either one.

Last is the AeraMax DB55. This device was made for large rooms and includes a True HEPA filter and Activated Carbon filter for capturing a majority of pollutants; however, it doesn’t include an Ultraviolet light for filtering out viruses. The tradeoff here is that this machine covers up to 400 square feet; double our first recommendation.
